If we look, wide field, towards the constellation of Cygnus we get some indication of just how many stars there are in our Galaxy with “star
clouds” containing huge numbers of stars occupying the frame. From earth Cygnus is positioned looking accross out galaxy and not
towards the centre but on an outer arm so probably only one ot so billion stars in this image.
